Heavy Equipment Operator



Job Location: Ayr, Ontario



Juel Group

is looking for a responsible operatorfor utilizing equipment such as excavators, front-end loaders, track dozers, and specialized material processing equipment (screeners and material stacking conveyors, assist tarping of Salt products), engaged in the screening, blending and production of bulk topsoil products as well as their loading and distribution.

Working Hours:



Regular working hours: 7:00 am-5:00pm (may require starting earlier/later as well as finishing earlier/later). Including working during the spring, summer, and fall seasons, working salt in the winter season, during salt events. Overtime required during peak periods and when workload necessitates.

Key Responsibilities



Communicate with the dispatch/order desk. Verify product material being distributed according to order. Organize and maintain an obstructive-free work area, eg: maintain raw material stockpiles to maximize production, and distribution efficiency. Safely operate and maintain all machinery/equipment; eg: perform pre-operational checks and check all fluid levels before operating, observe all equipment gauges and meters and equipment must be greased daily. Perform basic machine adjustments, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. Ensure equipment, scale house and yard are organized and clean. Fill out Daily Machine check list. Work with Salt product when required. Traveling to different sites may be required on occasion, including but not limited to the west end of the GTA, out of the Heritage, Mississauga, and Caledon sites. Operate within the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Facility safety rules. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. Comply with company policies/procedures, manual labor within capabilities of your position, and any other duties assigned by supervisor/ manager.

Competencies:



Communicate efficiently and courteous manner. Ability to read, write and have English comprehension Able to work well independently as well as part of a team. Exercise regular visual concentration and attention in the use of all equipment and tools, equipment functioning (especially conveyor belts and rollers), product production and job site work efficiency. Sustain working outdoors and exposure to temperature and climate extremes (hot, dry, windy, rainy, cold, wet) whether working on company sites or customer's job sites.
