Superior Resources Inc. is a well-established natural resources company headquartered in Thunder Bay with current site operations in Greenstone and along the northern shore of Lake Superior. Our services provide value and customized support to our clients in the forestry, mining, mineral exploration and utility sectors.
We are committed to safety, efficiency, and high-quality work and are looking to fill a Heavy Equipment Operator position. This position will be expected to assist our current team with conducting a broad array of projects in the field, presently in the Greenstone area. Our services include timber harvesting, land clearing and brushing, access and site development, road maintenance, upgrading and construction, and water crossing installation and removal including bridges, pipes and culverts.
The Heavy Equipment Operator would ideally be expected to work Monday - Friday, and as needed on weekend's dependent on projects. However, scheduling can be discussed. Hourly wage will be discussed dependent on experience and overtime compensation is provided. Accommodation is available at our company owned camp site just outside of Geraldton, which is near to where our current site operations are.
Our fleet consists of the following pieces of equipment:
Construction equipment: bulldozer, excavator, front-end loader, grader
Forestry equipment: feller buncher, grapple skidder, delimber
Low bed transport truck and trailer
In addition to equipment operation, the operators are also responsible for:
Daily equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and reporting mechanical issues
Equipment maintenance (greasing, filters, etc.) and basic repairs when necessary
Follow site plans, project specifications, and supervisor instructions
Safety adherence ensuring all safety measures are taken and the machines are working properly
Keeping accurate records of work performed (daily logs and timesheets)
Requirements:
Valid driver's license, and reliable transportation
Ability to operate and maintain a variety of machinery and equipment
Ability to work in outdoor environments and adverse weather conditions throughout all 4 seasons
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, and occasional weekends depending on the project
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety regulations at all times
Other beneficial assets that will be considered:
Prior training, education, and/or experience
Good understanding of earthmoving techniques and timber harvesting
Proficiency of the French language
Familiarity with areas adjacent to the various communities of Greenstone
