Heavy Equipment Operator - Excavator & Shears (Scrap Metal)

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our scrap metal operations team. This full-time role involves operating an excavator equipped with shears to process and load scrap metal into bins at various sites across Northern Alberta.

Responsibilities

Operate excavators and hydraulic shears to cut scrap metal into manageable sizes Load processed scrap into roll-off bins for transport Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Safely maneuver equipment in active yard and site environments Coordinate with truck drivers and site personnel for efficient bin placement and loading Maintain accurate records of materials handled and work performed Follow all safety protocols and environmental guidelines

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience operating excavators Valid equipment operator certification (if applicable) Experience working with scrap metal preferred Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions Strong communication skills and attention to safety Willingness to travel to various sites across Northern Alberta
