We are seeking skilled

Heavy Equipment Operators

with demolition experience to join our Operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background (5000hrs +) in heavy equipment operation with a substantial amount of demolition experience, be highly disciplined, and understand the importance of following procedures, maintaining systems and equipment. Experience with excavators, dozers, shears, loaders, graders, and various other pieces of heavy equipment is required. This role requires an individual who takes pride in their work and can do so efficiently and effectively, including demolition activities.

Job Duties




Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, shears, and loaders for site preparation, excavation, and demolition of structures and materials. Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment. Safely execute demolition tasks, including the breakdown and removal of concrete, steel, and other structural materials using specialized equipment. Ensure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Follow all safety protocols and participate in ongoing training.



Responsibilities




Demonstrate skill in the identification of key hazards and use of strategies to work safely and efficiently, especially during demolition operations. Operate demolition-specific equipment: +

Dozer:

Safely demolish and clear structures, push debris, and assist in site grading and preparation.

Excavator:

Use attachments such as buckets, hammers, and shears for demolition, material handling, and site restoration.

Shear:

Operate hydraulic shears for cutting steel beams, pipes, and other structural components during demolition.
Have a clear understanding of remediation and reclamation practices and be able to segregate soils with minimal soil mixing. Interpret grades offsite and incorporate them into onsite grading to restore the site to its natural state. Understand safe sloping/stepping in excavation and manage soils to keep segregation when needed. Prepping and loading out of soil piles and demolition debris. Start-up and shut down of equipment safely, by following comprehensive pre-operational checks, start-up and shutdown procedures. Maintain and monitor equipment, following maintenance procedures and monitoring gauges. Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required. Advise the Foreman / Site Supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairs. Accurately document demolition activities and report any incidents or hazards. Strong interpersonal skills and appropriate representation of Sublatus to our clients and the general public. Mechanically inclined. Ability to work independently and with little supervision but also recognize when questions should be asked. Must be able to identify hazards and perform the role in a safe manner. Must possess an understanding of the issues regarding public safety and the ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment. Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol testing & 50lbs Fitness for Duty. Other duties as required.



Valid Training Tickets Required




Valid training certificates- H2s Alive, Ground Disturbance, WHMIS GHS 2015, TDG, CSTS, Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Valid class 5 driver license



Due to the safety-sensitive nature of our projects, all employees are required to pass the following:




Clean criminal record check Physical fitness-for-duty test, 50lb A negative alcohol and drug test result Clean drivers abstract Consent to participate in all required tests



Working Conditions




This is a full-time, hourly role Travel is an expectation of the role, and the applicant must be willing to travel to work sites within western Canada. Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends
