JOB TITLE

Heavy Equipment Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator to support daily operations at our rock quarry. This role involves safely and efficiently loading rock orders into trucks, sorting stone materials, and performing general quarry duties.

The ideal candidate will have experience with both excavators and front-end loaders and be confident using them as part of daily operations. Prior quarry experience is an asset, though training will be provided on our specific processes and site requirements. A strong work ethic, a team-first attitude, and a focus on safety and reliability are essential for success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operate a front-end loader to transport and load stone materials within the quarry. Load rock orders into trucks for delivery using either a loader or excavator, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Sort and organize stone materials to meet quality and size specifications. Assist in the daily operations of the quarry, ensuring efficiency and productivity. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance, including fuelling and greasing. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks on the job site. Responsibilities may change and grow as additional skills are learned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Heavy equipment operation experience is required, with a focus on front-end loaders and excavators. Must be physically capable of handling demanding tasks, such as cleaning out rocks from the screen deck and performing maintenance on sorting equipment. Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate clearly, and maintain a positive attitude. High level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

LOCATION

The quarry is located approx. 15 minutes from Cranbrook, BC.

HOURS

Full-Time. Monday-Friday. Occasional Saturdays may be required during peak season.

WHAT WE OFFER

A competitive wage, dependent on experience and skill ($30-$35/hr). Benefits available after the probation period.
