to join our team, who will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment used in the company's products for handling, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers. This role supports the production, loading, and transportation of materials on site while maintaining compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment including (but not limited to) excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozers, and skid steers.
Load and move the company's products efficiently and safely.
Conduct daily equipment inspections, perform basic maintenance, and report issues promptly.
Ensure equipment logs and reports are accurately maintained. Ensure equipment, materials, protective devices and procedures required are provided, maintained, used and executed.
Perform basic machine adjustments, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
Perform pre-operational checks on machinery/equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition.
Check all fluid levels before operating.
Observe all equipment gauges and meters to ensure correct operation of machinery.
Equipment must be greased daily as required, and cleaned at the end of every work day.
Work collaboratively with other operators, laborers, and site supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site, adhering to company and legal safety protocols.
Follow production schedules, meet material handling targets, and assist in quality control of materials.
Assist in the setup and dismantling of temporary structures or equipment as needed.
Working Hours:
Regular working hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 am-5:00 pm (work hours may vary with overtime, weekend, or evening shifts as needed, you may be required to work Saturdays 6:00 am-2:00 pm.
Competencies:
Minimum
2 years of experience
operating heavy equipment in the construction industry.
Valid Ontario driver's license (DZ or AZ license an asset).
Heavy Equipment Operator certification or relevant training preferred.
Knowledge of soil types, aggregate materials, and basic grading techniques.
Understanding of OHSA and site-specific safety requirements.
Ability to understand English and follow instructions accurately.
Physically fit with the ability to work in various weather conditions (outdoor work environment).
Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
Must be able to work within a 55 km radius from Bowes Road.
Travel to various sites may be required on occasion, in the GTA.
