About the Role:



A key role within the organization, the operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently, managing worksite priorities, and working effectively in a Team and Individual Environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Responsible for own personal safety and acts as a safety leader in all capacities

Proficient and safe operation of heavy equipment, light vehicles, power tools, hand tools, and trailers

Assist Wild Developments with in-field execution and maintenance of various land development and onsite wastewater (septic system) projects throughout our service region

Adhere to all safety programs and protocols required by Wild's health and safety management system, as well as that of Wild's associates, clients, and customers

Haul and mobilize equipment and materials to and from job sites as required

Identify issues and perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance in the field or shop

Follow and identify maintenance requirements on all vehicles, equipment, and tools

Maintain schedules, budgets, standards and self-regulate within a team environment

Work collaboratively with clients and maintain Wild's high customer service standards

Participate in training and upskilling as required

Base Qualifications:



Safety held as a core value

Positive attitude and strong work ethic; self-managed with minimal or no supervision

Strong communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work professionally with others in a fast-paced environment

Class 5 Driver's license and clean Driver's Abstract, with ability to provide own transportation to Coleman, Alberta

. First Aid Level 1

Clean criminal record check

Availability and flexibility to periodically work and stay away from home depending on project location and requirements

Familiarity and experience operating heavy equipment and machinery

Comfortable with construction and forestry tools (chainsaws, brush saws, grinder, Sawzall etc.)

Ability to remain stationary in the seat or operating area of the equipment for prolonged periods

Ability to lift, carry and push 50 lbs

Proficient operating a vehicle with a manual transmission

Ability to load, secure, and unload heavy machinery

Able to be clean shaven and wear respiratory protection as required

Committed to working overtime as required to by project deadlines/commitments.

Preferred Qualifications:



Onsite wastewater (septic system) installation experience or training

Trade certification and/or experience

Previous experience in construction or related field

Previous experience in forestry operations or related field

Experience operating commercial vehicles and maintaining a logbook

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Coleman, AB (preferred)
Willingness to travel:

75% (preferred)
Work Location: On the road
