Overview



We are seeking a skilled

Heavy Equipment Operator

to join our team. We offer competitive pay, overtime, year-end bonuses, and benefits. The ideal candidate has experience with

coring, excavation, trenching, backfilling, gravel placement, grading, demolition, and prep work

for asphalt paving and site development. Operators must be versatile and able to run multiple types of equipment.

Skid Steers

- demolition, excavation, and finish grading for driveways, parking lots, and paving projects (preference for those who can read grade stakes).

Excavators

- basement/foundation excavation, trenching, backfilling, building backfill, demolition, and earthmoving (preference for those able to follow grade plans, blueprints, and site specs).

Graders

- fine grading for smooth surfaces, proper drainage, and accurate elevations (preference for those with GPS/laser or grade stake experience).
This role is essential to ensuring equipment is operated safely, efficiently, and to project specifications.

Responsibilities



Operate excavators, graders, skid steers, dozers, loaders, and backhoes on construction sites. Load/unload trucks with gravel, asphalt, soil, and materials. Perform site prep: cutting, shaping, leveling, and grading. Complete routine maintenance checks and minor repairs. Work with crews to execute plans safely and on time. Transport equipment to/from job sites when required. Assist with setup/breakdown of sites and proper equipment storage. Maintain accurate usage and maintenance records.

Requirements



3+ years' proven experience

operating heavy equipment in construction.

Willingness to work long hours (including evenings/weekends) during April-December.

CSA-approved safety boots. Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and basic repairs. Proficiency with dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and skid steers. Valid

Class 5 driver's license

(Class 1 or 3 an asset). Ability to work outdoors in all weather and handle physical tasks. Strong attention to detail, safety, and teamwork.

Compensation & Benefits



$30.00 to $40.00/Hour - Competitive hourly wage (based on experience). Significant overtime opportunities. Health & dental benefits after probation. Year-round work available (snow removal, paving, earthworks). Career growth and training opportunities.

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $23.44-$40.28 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
