Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic - (On Road) /Service Manager -

Calgary Alberta

We are seeking an experienced shop foreperson to lead our Calgary service operations. This is a key leadership position within our organization, responsible for managing the service team, ensuring high-quality repairs and maintenance services.

Responsibilities:



Oversee daily operations of the Fleet Division service department in Calgary, including technician scheduling, workflow coordination, and customer communication, in close collaboration with the service writer. Supervise and support a team of mechanics and the service writer, providing coaching, and mentorship. Coordinating required technician training, including safety training, in collaboration with Health & Safety/HR. Collaborate with other department managers and leadership to plan service strategies and align operational goals. Diagnose, assess, and support complex repairs on a variety of heavy-duty municipal and industrial equipment, including hydro-excavators, sweepers, garbage trucks, and other specialized fleet assets. Monitor work orders and job completion timelines to ensure service quality and on-time delivery. Work closely with Parts and Sales teams to facilitate seamless workflow and customer service. Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, quotes, and ensure overall satisfaction with service work. Assist in recruiting, training, and developing new service staff as required.

Requirements & Skills:



Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification and CVIP licensing are strongly preferred. Proven experience in a supervisory or lead hand position in a service environment, preferably dealing with heavy-duty or municipal fleet equipment. Excellent technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of responsibility. The ideal candidate would have a class 1, or class 3 drivers license. A valid driver's license and clean driving abstract are required. While travel is not anticipated for the role, occasional visits to customer sites or other branches may be required.

Related Physical, & Safety Requirements:



Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently; push/pull equipment, tools, and components weighing up to 150 lbs. as needed. Comfortable working in and around heavy equipment, including climbing onto machinery and working in confined spaces. Tolerance for occasional exposure to shop and field environmental elements. Maintain a safe, efficient, and organized shop environment, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and policies.

Employment Type & Compensation:



This is a full-time, salaried position, based out of our Calgary branch. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility required based on workload and operational needs.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and discussed with selected candidates.
