Job Description

Beamish Construction is seeking loyal hard-working Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a full-time permanent position available with an extensive benefits package, suitable for someone looking to explore a rewarding career in the construction industry.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:



Knowledge and ability to repair and service a variety of heavy equipment. Perform electrical, hydraulic and mechanical maintenance. Anticipate and troubleshoot breakdowns, list parts required and process orders. Perform vehicle road tests. Knowledge of vehicle reports and CVOR. Document all repairs on work orders or computer system. Fill out appropriate inspection sheets when required. Daily inspect all parts to ensure they are appropriately marked. Communicate with operations and supervisory staff on availability of equipment. Prioritize tasks to ensure work is completed efficiently. Prepare daily service reports. Physical work including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, crouching, climbing, crawling and reaching repeatedly throughout the workday. Display professionalism toward our company and customers. Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment. Work schedule including evenings and weekends when required. Travel between sites and over night stays when required. Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications:



Education:



Valid G Class Driver's License is required. Minimum 3 years' experience working on heavy machinery is required. Trade Certification in either Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (421A), Automotive Service Technician (310S), Truck and Coach Technician (310T) or Agricultural Equipment Technician (425A) is required. Heavy equipment Red Seal Certification considered an asset. DZ License is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



Knowledge and ability to repair trucks, trailers and/or power equipment. Ability to work as efficiently as possible with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a cheerful outlook and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
