Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. Experience with dealership service, automotive repair, and electrical systems is highly valued. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting operational productivity.

Duties



Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using schematics and diagnostic tools Conduct welding, assembly, and replacement of parts as needed to restore equipment functionality Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment safely and effectively Inspect equipment for wear and damage; perform necessary repairs or recommend replacements Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed Assist with installation and setup of new machinery or upgrades Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly to clients or team members

Qualifications



Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role within dealership or industrial settings Strong knowledge of excavator, crane, forklift, Caterpillar machinery, and other heavy equipment systems Hands-on experience with automotive repair, HVAC systems, electrical troubleshooting, welding, and schematics interpretation Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment as needed for diagnostics or repairs Familiarity with farm machinery and industrial equipment maintenance practices Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments effectively Excellent mechanical aptitude combined with strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Valid mechanic certification or relevant technical training is preferred but not mandatory

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.00-$44.00 per hour
