is currently seeking a qualified individual to join our growing team in the position of -

Heavy Equipment Operator Instructor

- Instructor training provided with an experienced instructor prior to instructing students independently (if no previous instructing or training experience).

- 40 hour work week, Monday to Thursday schedule

- Position is located between our training locations in Masstown, NS (classroom training) & Glenholme, NS (practical skills)

Duties and Responsibilities

- Instruct inexperienced heavy equipment operator students to an entry level standard for operation of excavator, backhoe, dozer, and loader. This includes both in-class theory topics and demonstration of hands-on, practical skills.

- Follow course guidelines and industry best practices.

- Conduct performance evaluations to ensure progress, competency

- Candidate should be willing to travel occasionally for off-site projects

- Candidate should be comfortable working both independently and in a team atmosphere

Required Work Experience & Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of verifiable heavy equipment operating experience and proficiency (combination of excavator, backhoe, dozer, loader, and other equipment is acceptable)

- Grade 12 education or G.E.D. preferred, but not essential

- Above average communication skills

- Candidates with previous experience as an instructor or trainer will be given priority consideration.

- Acceptable driver's abstract

- Acceptable criminal record search
