Independent Rebuild Specialist has been specializing in the highest quality reconditioned CAT engines for heavy equipment / heavy machinery and industrial applications globally for over 20 years. Independent specializes in medium to high horsepower Caterpillar diesel engines for just about every industry out there.

We are currently seeking two BILINGUAL (fluent English and French speaking) skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic with field and engine experience to join our Service Department.

As a Journeyman Field Engine Mechanic with Independent Rebuild Specialist, LLC you are responsible for troubleshooting and repairing a variety of CAT Engines including but not limited to C175's, 3400, 3500 and 3600 series. As well as mining equipment including haul trucks, dozers, loaders and shovels. Engine experience is an asset. This position is located in Northern Quebec.

Our tradespeople are offered above average industry wages. A 14/14 schedule. Flights (within Canada), accommodations, and meals provided while on shift. Tools, coveralls and gear provided. Weekly pay, a premium benefits package, and RRSP eligibility.

Qualifications

• Off-Road Interprovincial Off-Road Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic
• Valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Previous mining experience required
• Experience running a service truck an asset
• Engine ( 777's, 793's, 789's) experience preferred
• Previous knowledge of SIS an asset

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety practices and protocols
• Duties that range from preventative maintenance to major breakdowns, engine swaps and commissioning
• Confidence in disassembling and reassembling engines, transmissions, fuel, exhaust and cooling systems, and torque converters
• Skilled in pressure checks and adjustments
• Ground level failure analysis
• Provide innovative solutions and practices
• Work exclusively with CAT brand
