Brandt is currently seeking two Heavy Duty Field Service Technicians for the Halifax, Antigonish, and Port Hawkesbury areas, reporting to our Halifax location. The Service Technician independently performs basic/complex diagnostics, service maintenance and repair work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment on an efficient basis. Resolves customer issues to their satisfaction on a timely basis.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
• Diagnose and repair all related systems (disassembly, assembly, and repair).
• Perform customer inspections on equipment.

Required Skills

• knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Proven computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.
• Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
• Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• A commitment to high quality customer service with a strong people orientation.

Required Experience

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
