Heavy Duty Mechanic - Country Junction Feeds

Wetaskiwin Co-op is now accepting applications for the full-time permanent position of Heavy Duty Mechanic at our busy Truck Shop, located at 4707 40th Ave in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

Areas of responsibility:

Working with the Mechanics and Maintenance team members on a variety of day-to-day tasks. Inspect trucks and trailers and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues. Effectively troubleshoot and perform repairs needed. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on the vehicles and equipment in the fleet. Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, tire installation and rotation. Accurately document work performed and part usage. Regularly bending and twisting lifting up to 55 pounds. Participate in an On-Call rotating shift. Ensures all applicable company policies and procedures are adhered to and ensure all safety and regulatory requirements and procedures are maintained, notifying management of any safety concerns.

You are a Heavy Duty Mechanic; Journeyman and Apprentices are all welcomed to apply. You have a valid CVIP Licence. You have a valid Class 5 Driver's License. Class 3A Driver's Licence and Class 1 Driver's Licence are considered an asset. You have a mechanical aptitude and excellent communication skills. You have the ability to work in a shop environment with minimal supervision. You have a minimum of two years of related experience (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered). You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives. You're honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
