Rempel Brothers Construction Ltd. is looking for an experienced heavy duty mechanic to keep our fleet of trucks and heavy equipment running safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, takes pride in quality work, and can thrive in a busy shop and field environment.?
We are growing our shop program and are looking for someone who is motivated to build something of their own. The successful candidate will be given resources and autonomy within their role to manage our equipment fleet as they see fit and align their goals with Rempel Brothers' Company Values.
Key responsibilities
Work directly with ownership and purchasing team to manage the equipment fleet and shop.
Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy trucks, trailers, and mobile equipment.?
Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, adjustments, and safety inspections.?
Repair or replace defective parts and components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and hydraulic systems using hand and power tools.?
Use computerized diagnostic equipment to identify faults and confirm repairs.?
Complete repair orders and maintenance records accurately and on time.?
Perform field service work at job sites or roadside as needed, following all safety procedures.?
Communicate clearly with supervisors, drivers, and dispatch about equipment status and repair needs.?
Qualifications
Red Seal heavy duty mechanic.
Minimum 5 years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment.
Self starter with strong time management and organization skills.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, braking systems, and electrical diagnostics.?
Valid Class 5 driver's license (Class 1A an asset).
Ability to lift heavy components and work in various shop and outdoor conditions safely.?
