Vertikal Green Tech, a leading Canadian maintenance and R&D company in vertical farming, is seeking a qualified and detail oriented Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair maintenance diagnostics and overhaul of heavy duty equipment used in a variety of industrial and client operations ensuring that all equipment remains reliable safe and fully operational.
This is a full time managerial fixed salary position within the Maintenance Department at Vertikal Green Tech. The Heavy Duty Mechanic reports directly to the CEO. Work hours may vary depending on project and maintenance schedules and may include weekdays evenings and weekends.
Primary duties include heavy duty equipment repair troubleshooting adjustment overhaul and maintenance of mobile heavy duty equipment used by client businesses. Employees are expected to follow all applicable standard operating procedures safety guidelines equipment handling protocols and client specific operational requirements.
Depending on project needs work locations may change and duties may be physically demanding. The role requires strong attention to detail adaptability punctuality and effective time management to meet daily maintenance objectives.
Performance is evaluated based on productivity adherence to quality and safety standards ability to meet maintenance deadlines and contribution to the overall success of the team and company mission.

Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect bulldozers cranes graders and other heavy construction agricultural logging and mining equipment
Diagnose faults using computerized and manual testing equipment
Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools
Test repaired equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications
Perform routine maintenance including cleaning and lubrication
Service attachments and working tools such as harvesting and tillage equipment
May perform repairs on heavy trucks
May assemble and adjust new farm equipment
Plan and control budget and inventory
Supervise and train staff
Ensure compliance with company policies
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum five years experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic
Must be at least 16 years of age
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Additional experience is an asset

Compensation and Benefits
Fixed salary of CA$4,590 bi weekly

Work Schedule
40 hours per week
Morning day evening or night shifts on weekdays or weekends
Managers are expected to manage their schedules independently
