Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics

with large earthworks construction / mining project experience.

We offer:

2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotations; 12-hour days. Competitive hourly rates with Overtime Pay (1.5x), Fly in and fly out. Travel and accommodation provided. All tools and equipment are supplied by Nuna.

This position is located on our project site located in Norman Wells, Northwest Territories.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with the maintenance, repair, and service of large off-road industrial equipment

(dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, haul / rock trucks, water trucks, snow cat, skid steers, packers, etc.).

Assist with the maintenance, repair and service of smaller equipment when required - vehicles, generators, etc. Ability to take apart and put together heavy equipment after being shipped to site. Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions and determine the extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Test repaired equipment for proper performance. Service attachments and working tools. Keep maintenance reports and documentation Incorporate HS&E concepts into work activities and demonstrates concern for others health & safety (co-workers, clients, and sub trades). Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (Off Road) Trade Certification and/or Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Red Seal) ticketed. Strong computer skills and proficiency in maintenance diagnostic software programs. Minimum 2 years previous experience working on larger industrial heavy equipment used in the mining and earthworks industry; (Earthworks, Civil construction, and Mining). Experience with a variety of brands of heavy equipment: CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, etc. Previous experience working rotational schedules and remote camp life. Comfortable working primarily outdoors in various weather conditions. Have a valid Class 5 Driver's License. Eligible to work and reside in Canada.
