Position Overview:
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in both the manufacturing and servicing of our concrete pumper units and potentially other heavy machineries. You will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty machinery, with a primary focus on ensuring the functionality and safety of our vehicles. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise and support to our service team, assisting with diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs for customer-owned equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble, install, and test mechanical components and systems in the manufacturing of concrete pumper trucks, following technical specifications and safety standards. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on manufacturing equipment, including engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components. Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability of vehicles. Conduct preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment, including lubrication, fluid checks, and part replacements. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for vehicle modifications and upgrades. Provide technical support and guidance to service technicians, assisting with diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of customer-owned concrete pumper trucks. Utilize diagnostic tools to identify and address mechanical and electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repair logs, and parts inventory to support documentation and reporting requirements. Responsible for performing chassis modifications as required. Handles air line installation, repair, and related maintenance tasks. Performs electrical line work, including troubleshooting and basic wiring. Carries out general worker duties such as truck washing, housekeeping, and organizing ordered parts. Uphold safety protocols and procedures while working with heavy machinery and equipment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA regulations. Stay informed about advancements in heavy equipment technology, industry trends, and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in heavy-duty mechanics or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic in manufacturing and servicing heavy equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components. Experience with concrete pumper trucks or similar heavy equipment is highly desirable. Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to perform installations, repairs, and modifications. Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail, with a focus on safety and quality. Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to support production and service operations.
