Description

To assist with the efficient administration of applications for heat assistance, to process and review applications and communicate with clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle inquiries concerning assistance from the Energy Fund, record information and send out applications or supply information
  • Upon receipt of applications, to screen information in accordance with criteria and available finances. To notify the applicant if additional information is needed to process an application. Advise applicant whether or not they qualify for the program.
  • Hold in confidence all personal information regarding applicants
  • Direct inquiries from the media to the CFS Director or the Salvation Army PR Department
  • Treat all applicants to the program with dignity and respect in accordance with The Salvation Army Policy and CFS Mission Statement
  • Build upon the relationship already established with NSP and Service Nova Scotia
  • Report to the Coordinator, any special needs of the applicant that are made known to the coordinator during contact
  • Other duties related to the program may become apparent based on demand and circumstance and/or give assistance in other office duties as the need arises
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be a team player with CFS fellow employees
Working Conditions
  • Various agencies, community groups, schools, church groups, military personnel, etc.
  • Clients and General Public
  • May require extended hours on occasion.
TIME AND PLACE

8:30AM-4:00PM (1/2 hour unpaid lunch break)

2 -15 minute paid smoke or coffee breaks

35 hours per week - Contract to end of April 2024

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Solid Computer skills
  • Able to represent The Salvation Army well in all forms of communication
  • Well organized
  • Works well with people
  • Able to effectively deal with multiple lines of command
