Job Description

0.70 FTE Temporary part-time Health Promoting Schools Coordinator / District Food Coordinator position, beginning September 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
An understanding of and experience with the Health Promoting School Pillars/Principles

Experience in health-promoting initiatives at the school or district level

Experience in the area of social-emotional learning and professional development.

Experience with collaborating and communicating effectively with community /regional/provincial agencies, which provide services to youth of the community.

Training and experience working with a wide range of grade-level students.

Experience with adapting materials, resources, assessments and learning outcomes for student needs.

Valid BC Teaching Certificate and familiarity with BC Curriculum and the Guidelines for Food & Beverage Sales in BC Schools

Teaching category five or higher.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A commitment to supporting a variety of learning needs.

Excellent interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills.

Ability to lead, plan and implement programs.

Experience providing professional learning opportunities to schools, district and communities.

Committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, staff and parents.

Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in School Counselling or related area.
