Position: Healthcare Compliance Specialist
Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid - 100% onsite for first 2 months, then 3 days onsite ongoing)
Job Type: Maternity Leave Coverage (~8 months)

Reports to: Senior Manager, Compliance
Position Summary
The Healthcare Compliance Specialist plays a key role in supporting and enhancing the company's Compliance Program across Canada. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing compliance processes, policies, training programs, and monitoring activities. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to corporate, legal, and industry standards, while helping to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Project Support:
- Lead or support implementation of various compliance projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with global, local, and industry requirements.
- Provide hands-on assistance to cross-functional departments on high-priority projects such as internal audits and new process rollouts.
- Offer proactive compliance guidance to internal teams to minimize risks.
- Develop and maintain automated forms and workflows to streamline compliance processes and improve efficiency.
- Conduct regular and ad hoc reviews to identify and resolve compliance issues.
- Provide ongoing administrative and project support to the Canadian Compliance Department.
Policies, Procedures & Standards:
- Develop, update, and maintain country-specific compliance policies and procedures.
- Review and manage the compliance training matrix and track completion rates across the organization.
Training, Monitoring & Risk Management:
- Collaborate with Commercial and Training teams to develop and deliver engaging compliance training sessions.
- Communicate relevant compliance updates, alerts, and industry developments to employees.
- Support the implementation of compliance monitoring programs, focusing on prevention, detection, and risk management.
- Conduct monitoring, awareness, and educational activities company-wide.
- Identify control gaps and propose improvements to strengthen compliance frameworks.
- Conduct or support ad hoc investigations into potential compliance issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Law, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or related industries, with significant exposure to compliance functions.
- Proven experience establishing and managing compliance programs, including ABAC (Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption) risk.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills to drive compliance across departments.
- Demonstrated problem-solving agility and ability to develop practical, compliant solutions.
- Experience in developing and delivering training and communication programs.
