We are hiring for Team Gillian!!

Positions include Part - Full Time Hours including Evenings and Weekends with possible holiday/sick time coverage. Hours occasionally flex to accommodate individual's activities and participation in the community.

Team Gillian is hiring dynamic individuals seeking employment in a home and community setting. Your skills will be an asset as you support an independent, non-verbal young woman with a fiery sense of humor, passion for her service dog, love of learning, and deep connections to friends and family. She is semi-mobile - she loves to move but also requires adapted equipment for some aspects of her day. Building relationships and trust is pivotal in this position.

As a One-to-One Support Worker you will assist your client in all aspects of daily living while encouraging independence and autonomy. This position requires the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You are able to bring your own strengths and passions while holding space for the family environment. You are able to plan, but are also adaptable and flexible. You are confident and are able to ask for help when needed. You are able to utilize established strategies and approaches that support your client to maintain healthy functioning in the areas of physical, social, emotional, spiritual, psychological, and medical domains. You will be directly participating in a variety of activities which include interaction in the family, community, group settings, and the outdoors. You are able to physically assist with accessing nature/walks, swimming, horseback riding, and bicycling.

This position includes supporting your client to participate in her life and home just as any young adult would do. Within her capabilities and utilizing adaptations you will be supporting her to participate in household chores, shopping, cooking, care for her dog, and learning opportunities.

Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

Documentation and Communication utilizing a variety of methods (written and verbal, google calendar, Slack App)

Medication Administration

Tasks related to personal care (dressing, feeding, bathing etc)

Light housework directly related to Client's participation in household (vacuuming, dishes, laundry, meal prep)

Interactions with, and basic care of service dog

Utilizing and Maintaining Cleanliness of Equipment (Wheelchairs, Ipad, Sling and Lift, Bath Chair, Adapted Bicycle etc)

Training is provided.

Renumeration begins at $28/hr

Extended Medical and Dental offered after 3 months of employment for employees working 24+ hrs/week.

Necessary Documents:

Criminal Record Check

Class 5 Driver's Licence and Current Driver's Abstract

Current First Aid (can be completed with in first month)
