to join our faculty team. This role involves teaching students enrolled in the HCA program, delivering both theory and practical instruction that aligns with provincial curriculum standards and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is a skilled healthcare professional with a background in adult education who is committed to empowering the next generation of care providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective classroom instruction following the HCA provincial curriculum
Facilitate lab and simulation-based training using industry-standard equipment and procedures
Supervise and mentor students during clinical/practicum placements in approved care facilities
Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials
Provide academic guidance, evaluate student progress, and maintain accurate records
Foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learners
Collaborate with program staff to ensure quality delivery and continuous improvement of the program
Qualifications:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
or
Registered Nurse (RN)
in good standing with the
BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
A minimum of
2 years of full-time nursing experience
within the last 5 years, preferably in residential/community care
Experience working with older adults with cognitive and physical challenges
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Teaching or mentoring experience in a post-secondary or training environment is an asset
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (required)
Current CPR Level C and First Aid certification (required)
