About the Opportunity

Accountable to the Director of Perioperative and Pain Services, Eastern zone, the Perioperative Health Services Manager of the Northside General, Glace Bay, New Waterford Consolidated and Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospitals is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to multi-disciplinary teams within a patient-centred, Collaborative Practice Model for patient care.

Working collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers, the Manager applies strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges to achieve the ultimate goal of high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services to better support patient experience/outcome.

The Manager exhibits sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the framework and objectives of the Health Services Program and the Mission and Vision and Strategic Directions of Nova Scotia Health, and incorporates into daily practice the Core Competencies and Values of Nova Scotia Health.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Nursing
  • Masters degree is considered an asset
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN)
  • Minimum of five years clinical experience in Perioperative nursing
  • Minimum of five years management or leadership experience in healthcare
  • Proven ability to make sounds decisions regarding client care
  • Working knowledge of scheduling/staffing requirements and financial and human resource management
  • Must be knowledgeable about, and committed to initiatives and approaches that ensure patient safety and effective resource utilization
  • Ability to be an effective change agent with very good interpersonal, leadership and team building skills
  • Commitment to maintain and protect patient, client, and personal safety on an ongoing basis
  • Commitment to confidentiality and privacy of NS Health patients and clients
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Permanent Full Time; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Incentives

$42.63 - $56.64 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
