MANAGER, HEALTH SERVICES lnuvik FIT (37.5 hours per week) The Gwich\'in Tribal Council {GTC), located in lnuvik, Northwest Territories, is seeking a candidate for the role of Manager, Health Services. Reporting to the Director, Health and Wellness, the Manager of Health Services manages delivery of health services to Participants of the Gwich\'in Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement {GCLCA) in accordance with Gwich\'in Tribal Council {GTC} mandates, priorities and annual workplans. The Manager oversees activities and staff in multiple service areas including Child and Family Advocacy, Jordan\'s Principal Service Coordinator, Treatment & Aftercare Coordinator and the On the Land Coordinator. Scope \xe2\x96\xa1 Provides management and brings expertise to the delivery of quality health services. \xe2\x96\xa1 Provides supervision to GTC staff and programs to ensure health services are equitable, efficient, accessible, and culturally safe. \xe2\x96\xa1 Advises the Director with regard to health services delivery, quality assurance plans, outcomes, opportunities and risks. Including, but not limited to, incidents impacting or potentially affecting the safety and wellbeing of participants and the integrity of GTC Health and Wellness department. \xe2\x96\xa1 Provides operational oversight of the implementation of projects and programs, including but not limited to health promotion campaigns, behaviour change and incentive programs, service delivery, and implementation of third-party funded projects. \xe2\x96\xa1 Provides leadership and direction throughout program delivery by maintaining project scope, matching goals and deliverables, definition of tasks and resource requirements, development of work plans, team building and coordination, monitoring and reporting on activities and results. \xe2\x96\xa1 Manages human resource functions such as leave management and yearly performance appraisals for staff. \xe2\x96\xa1 Ensures clear communication between all health and wellness service staff and regular sharing of lessons learned, including but not limited to meetings, workshops, reporting back after duty travel. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities \xe2\x96\xa1 Knowledge of the overall Gwich\'in Tribal Council\'s mandate, goals and objectives and the political and social environment in which GTC programs and services are offered. \xe2\x96\xa1 Understanding of the Gwich\'in Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement \xe2\x96\xa1 Knowledge or appreciation for Gwich\'in culture, language and lands \xe2\x96\xa1 Experience in community development in health and wellness. \xe2\x96\xa1 Knowledge of colonial impacts on health outcomes for Indigenous peoples \xe2\x96\xa1 Understanding of the NWT health and social services system, including opportunities and challenges for Gwich\'in communities and Participants \xe2\x96\xa1 Understanding of promotion and prevention programs as they relate to wellness, wise practices and the social determinants of health. \xe2\x96\xa1 Knowledge of issues related to residential schools, addictions and trauma. \xe2\x96\xa1 Demonstrated project financial management and budget monitoring experience. \xe2\x96\xa1 Demonstrated communication skills both oral and written along with well-developed presentation skills. \xe2\x96\xa1 Knowledge of, and ability to use, MS Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Operating Systems, Email and Internet programs. Qualifications \xe2\x96\xa1 Bachelor\'s Degree in a Health, Social Sciences, or related field and/or significant experience in the delivery and coordination of health or social service programs or related programming. \xe2\x96\xa1 A combination of education/experience will be considered, including experience in coordination, supervision of staff, program management, monitoring and evaluation, and training others. \xe2\x96\xa1 A valid class 5 driver\'s license is also required. \xe2\x96\xa1 Gwich\'in Participants are encouraged to apply and will receive special consideration.
