YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee the Health & Safety Department. You will ensure proper health and safety practices of the Health and Safety team are followed in terms of health care, emergency response, security, hygiene, health and safety training, and government compliance. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Manage all aspects of safety and security in compliance with Federal/Provincial regulations of Ontario and project requirements, with the objective of maintaining a safe and healthy workplace
Collaborate with the management team in the development and implementation of the corporate H&S concept and management system (incident reporting systems, risk analysis systems, performance analysis and existing trends analysis)
Carry out risk assessment and job safety analyses to then implement and manage effective corrective actions to improve the performance in H&S to mitigate occupational risks
Play an important role within the occupational health & safety committee and be accountable for the sustainability of the departmental budget
Prepare and produce all necessary reporting for the department
Utilize and enforce use of the Supervision Formula to manage health and safety in the field
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Bachelor's degree in health and safety, or similar
Minimum 10 years of experience in a management position within the field
Must be able to manage numerous projects in a timely manner, while respecting respective priorities
Possess autonomy, a well-developed sense of responsibilities, good analytical skills, and the capacity for harmonious teamwork
Previous experience in the mining industry a must
Must be detail-oriented and have good problem-solving skills
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
