Workplace Medical Corp. (WMC) is looking for a reliable and engaging Health and Safety Instructor to deliver top-quality training to clients in the Orillia and surrounding areas. This includes CPO-approved Working at Heights and Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) programs, as well as practical safety instruction in Forklift Operation, Overhead Crane, and Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) use. You'll play a vital role in helping organizations build safer, healthier work environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver a wide range of health and safety training programs in accordance with Chief Prevention Officer (CPO) standards, WMC guidelines, and established lesson plans.
Ensure reliability and professionalism through punctual, well-prepared, and consistent training delivery.
Facilitate sessions using adult learning principles to ensure participation and comprehension.
Stay current on industry best practices, regulations, and standards, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), CSA, and provincial guidelines.
Represent WMC with integrity and enthusiasm while promoting a strong safety culture.
Qualifications:

Occupational Health & Safety Knowledge
(must meet at least one)
:
Recognized professional OHS designation (e.g., CRSP, CHSC)
Degree, diploma, or certificate in OHS from a recognized post-secondary institution
Minimum of five years of recent OHS experience
30+ hours of OHS training within the last two years
Three consecutive years as a certified Joint Health and Safety Committee member
Adult Education Experience
(must meet at least one):
100+ hours of adult education delivery experience in the last five years
Certificate, diploma, or degree in adult education
Instructor training program based on adult learning principles
Professional designation in training and development
Additional Requirements:
Proven experience delivering training in Working at Heights, JHSC Certification, Forklift, Overhead Crane, and MEWP
Experience operating Forklifts, Overhead Cranes, and Scissor/Boom lifts is preferred
Demonstrated reliability--we depend on our instructors to deliver an excellent experience every time
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Valid Ontario Driver's License, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel
Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
Own laptop and LCD projector
Availability and flexibility for weekday and occasional weekend, evening, or overnight sessions
Comfortable using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar platforms
