IntroductionDovre Canada Limited is pleased to offer the following opportunity: Health & Safety Coordinator, located in St. John\xe2\x80\x99s, NLFunctionOur client requires the services of two (2) health and safety coordinators to join its team to help support the Regulated Engineering and Technology Project Execution team. The individual will support the execution of projects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.REQUIREMENTS:

• Provide oversight, technical advice, support and direction to the Project Execution team for contract, technical and capital work;
• Provide coaching and support to Project Managers and Construction Management Representatives (CMRs) involved in the execution of work;
• Ensure the Contractor Safety Management Program(CSMP) is effectively implemented through front end involvement in tender specifications, bid reviews, and ongoing field monitoring;
• Liaise with project managers, regional / safety field personnel and CMRs;
• Coordinate and provide coaching for incident investigations;
• Assist new staff with safety reporting and safety observations;
• Review contracts and provide feedback to contract managers;
• Review contractor site specific safety documentation / safety plans and provide feedback;
• Participate in contractor \xe2\x80\x9ckick off\xe2\x80\x9d meetings;
• Be a point of contact for regional safety employees in the areas we operate;
• Complete field safety interactions, field audits, and other field safety duties;
• Assist Project Managers with completing Risk Assessments;
• Promote and help ensure compliance with Hydro\xe2\x80\x99s Safety Management Systems;
• Facilitate risk assessments and perform audits related to Project Execution work (Contractor Safety Management Programs and other elements of client Safety Management Systems);
• Deliver CMR training;
• Liaison with the CMRs in the field regarding safety issues and concerns;
• Deliver in house training as required;
• Communicate with Operations on a regular basis;
• Strong knowledge of safety operating procedures, relevant OH&S legislation, and associated industry standards;
• Strong knowledge of capital intensive environments;
• Travel to site as required to provide technical input and field support.
• Travel and work at various sites where projects are being completed

RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
o Passionate about Health and Safety;
o Safety training and / or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to:

• Safety and Health Management Systems
• Auditing
• Incident investigations
• Risk assessment
• Training development and delivery;

o Minimum of 5 years experience in construction projects;
o Field experience, particularly relating to hydro-electric facilities or the electrical industry in general is considered desirable;
o Ability to take direction and work independently:
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
o Computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
o Ability to work in a dynamic work environment;
o A valid class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license , as some travel will be required;
o Ability to perform field work in an electrical utility and heavy industrial environments.
o Practicing as or eligible for Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST)designation.OfferDovre Group is an equal opportunity employer.
