We are currently seeking a

Health Safety and Environmental Field Advisor

for a project between Moosejaw and Regina, Saskatchewan.

SUMMARY OF POSITION



The HSE Field Advisor will conduct site evaluations of the general contractor and subcontractors, tracking all relevant documentation as required. Detect and report unsafe and/or unhealthy working conditions, provide training support, and ensure compliance with the Saskatchewan Act and Regulations. Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to get to the job site. This position reports to the Construction Management Team and HSE Advisor. The start date of the job is TBD (Early Spring 2025)

Responsibilities:



Regularly monitor subcontractors' safety compliance; conduct site inspections; evaluate HSE documentation and remedial action if required. Review of the Field-Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA), Job-Hazard Assessments (JHA), Ensure Safe Work Practices (SWP) and Safe Job Procedures (SJP) are followed. Conduct site safety orientations and confirm workers have training/certification to complete assigned work. Ensure workers use required PPE and other safety equipment, such as personal gas monitors and respirators. Preparing toolbox meetings on topics relevant to the site and the scope of work. Report and document site incidents, injuries and near-misses and be responsible for supporting incident investigations. Maintain and monitor statistics, records, safety violations, and incident frequencies. Keep the Construction Management Team updated on any issue(s) that may impact the worksite or workers. Ensure all site-specific metrics, statistics, and documents are prepared as needed and made available to the Construction Management Team. Attend and participate in all applicable safety meetings. Be familiar with all required aspects of applicable legislation and regulations that impact the construction industry and oil and gas plant industry. All other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:



National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) is preferred or equivalent experience and education. 5+ years of related health and safety experience. Experience in construction or oil and gas plants is an asset. First aid training or experience is an asset. Experience implementing and managing health and safety programs in high-risk environments. Strong knowledge of the Act and Regulations in Saskatchewan. Experience with site evaluations, auditing and leading safety indicator record keeping. Clear and precise verbal and written communication skills. Able to establish relationships with subcontractors and other safety professionals to gather regular information for record keeping. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple high-level responsibilities and tasks professionally and respectfully. Strong organization and administration skills, diligent record-keeping. Experience implementing and managing health and safety programs. Comfortable to engage with workers on all levels of operation.

Salary is based on an average of 50 hours a week. The competitive salary will be based on skills and experience.


Estimated range is between $55.00 - $60.00 per hour.
