Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Reporting to the Director of Health, Safety and Environment the HS&E Specialist will ensure compliance with applicable legislation and company standards. The HS&E Specialist will facilitate the engagement of the appropriate stakeholders and departments.

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A certified Occupational Health and Safety designation, such as CRSP, CHSC, CHSE, or equivalent or 3 to 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the Occupational Health and Safety field.
• Experience in training and regulatory compliance

• Experience with implementing SDS management systems and incident reporting & tracking systems
• Experience conducting Incident Investigations, Hazard Assessments, developing JHA\xe2\x80\x99s, SOP\xe2\x80\x99s
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage team members and other stakeholders;
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Willingness to obtain certificate program in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Willingness and ability to travel within the Maritime provinces

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, coordinate and priority manage safety initiatives, training, policies and procedures
• Deliver progress reports and presentations on the various safety initiatives,
• Perform regular site inspections and work with site staff to improve safety at site.

• Ensure regulatory compliance at all sites within their jurisdiction

Salary Range: $60,000 - 70,200
