This role will be a 12-month contract for the University of Fraser Valley project, with the possibility of extension.Application DeadlinePlease note that the application deadline is September 23th, 2024. We encourage interested candidates to apply as soon as possible.Duties/Responsibilities:Have a working knowledge of Clark Builders\xe2\x80\x99 Health Safety & Environment Management System (HSEMS) as well as WorkSafe BC legislationAdvise and collaborate with the Project Management Team and Trade PartnersProvide information and help implement applicable Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental Legislation and Regulations to all stakeholdersVerify that site supervisors have adequately prepared their employees to act appropriately in emergency response situationsVerify the project is following the Project Specific HSE Plan through auditing and observationAssist project personnel in conducting field level Pre-Task Plans (PTP) when requiredConduct PTP reviews for accuracy and relevance to the work being performedComplete HSE training and orientations for project personnelIn conjunction with the Project Superintendent, accompanying local WorkSafe representative(s) during workplace inspections and verify corrective measures necessary to comply with legislation are takenMonitor Trade Partner safety performance and verify correction and redirection as neededPerform audits and additional inspections as directed by Project ManagementAssist in preparing trending reports for leading and lagging indicators and following up on any noted deficienciesPrepare monthly HSE performance statistics and circulate to Project Management and as otherwise directedProvide support and recommendations with the incident investigation processAssist with the implementation, communication and review of the Project Specific Emergency Response PlanAssist with permitting requirements as defined by the client and Clark Builders\xe2\x80\x99 Health Safety & Environment Management SystemMaintain HSEMS documentation (Inspections, Hazard Assessments, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Toolbox and HSE Meetings, etc.)Maintain positive and professional working relationships while interacting and communicating with all levels of management, clients, consultants and visitors to promote safetyCollaborate with the WorkSafe Claims Coordinator on the management of occupational injuries, illnesses, and Modified Work PlansPerforms other related duties as assigned by ManagementSkills & Knowledge:Must have commercial construction industry field experienceMust be a leader of safety excellence, resourceful, organized and understand the principles of Health and Safety ManagementAbility to confidently speak to groups regarding safety at orientations and large meetingsStrong attention to detail, effective communication skills;
