The Ross family takes pride in providing compassionate, quality patient care.Position SummaryThe Health Records Department is currently seeking a Permanent Part-Time Health Records Technician to join their team.Effective Date: July 29, 2024Essential Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized Health Information Management program
• Active member in good standing with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (mandatory)
• Thorough knowledge of privacy legislation including the (PHIPA), The Public Hospitals Act (PHA) and Mental Health Act (MHA)
• Successful Candidate will participate in ongoing education and training to perform Release of Information duties, Health and Safety or other duties as assigned
• Minimum one year coding/abstracting experience required
• Previous coding and abstracting using ICD-10-CA/CCI and familiarity with MED2020 software an asset
• Proficient in Windows-based applications environment and computer applications eg Winrecs, EPIC or other patient information systems
• Working knowledge of Health Based Allocation Model (HBAM) and Health System Funding Reform (HSFR) an asset
• Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to deal co-operatively and effectively with all levels of staff and the public
• Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills
• Strong judgment and decision making skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Trained in EPIC or complete training and pass testing required

Hours of WorkMust be available to work four 8 hour day shifts, Monday to Friday.
