Summary: Reporting to the Regional Manager, Records Management Process & Standards, the Health Information Administrator 2, Release of Information (ROI) Liaison provides guidance and information to Release of Information (ROI) clerical staff on ROI work processes and standards specific to the Health Information Management (HIM) service. Assists ROI staff to manage personal health information in compliance with BC\xe2\x80\x99s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (the Act) by responding to the ROI support phone line or staff email queries. Supports the ROI Lead by conducting regular and ad hoc audits and chart reviews to check for compliance with the Act. Works with ROI Clerks to review and facilitate completion of complex releases. Reviews, analyzes, recommends, develops and pre-authorizes responses to complex requests. Responds to formal requests made for amendment or correction of personal health information so that they are processed in accordance with the Act. Liaises with and provides information to other areas such as Privacy Office, Risk Management, etc. Assists with updating and maintenance of departmental manuals and documentation.
Qualifications / Skills and Education: Education, Training, and Experience
Graduation from a recognized Health Information Management program or related field plus two years\xe2\x80\x99 of recent, related experience in large organization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Certified with the Canadian College of Health Information Management and active membership with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA). Current Valid BC Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License. Local area travel may require use of own vehicle.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Supports HIM ROI staff by providing information and guidance on the application of ROI procedures and standards and promoting their use. Facilitates the completion of complex releases, including processing as required
2.Responds to formal requests made for amendment or correction of personal health information and ensures processing in accordance with the Act.
3.Supports the ROI Lead by conducting regular and ad hoc audits and chart reviews.
4.Reviews, analyzes, recommends, develops and pre-authorizes responses to complex requests for information within specified timeframes.
5.Works in collaboration with the HIM Leaders across HIM for ROI to update and maintain Release of Information manuals and forms in keeping with regulatory standards.
6.Liaises with Information Privacy Office, Risk Management, Legal and Patient Quality Office with regards to specific ROI requests to determine sensitivity of information and providing advice to ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
7.Participates in planning and organizing the annual ROI Education Day in conjunction with the ROI Lead.
8.Participates on various committees and in meetings as delegated.
9.Maintains knowledge of current developments in records management by reviewing relevant literature, liaising with other professionals and attending relevant education programs in order to contribute to new processes and improvement of service delivery.
10.Performs other related duties as assigned.
