We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, hospice care, and for those with disabilities. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence.
Duties
Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
Assist clients with mobility and physical activities to enhance their quality of life.
Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those dealing with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
Document client progress and report any concerns to healthcare professionals or family members.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized care plans that address the unique needs of each client.
Qualifications
Previous experience in nursing homes, hospice care, or senior care is preferred.
Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication administration and meal preparation.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
Compassionate attitude towards caregiving and a commitment to enhancing the lives of others.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Certification in caregiving or related fields is desirable but not mandatory.
