Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Your responsibilities will include supporting clients with daily activities, administering medication, and providing companionship. Responsibilities
• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
• Assist with heavy lifting when necessary to help clients move safely and comfortably.
• Support individuals with disabilities by implementing care plans tailored to their specific needs.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
• Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behavior to appropriate personnel.
• Ensure a clean and safe living environment for all clients by performing light housekeeping tasks as needed.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experiences:
• Previous experience in caregiving or support roles, particularly within nursing homes or hospice care settings.
• Familiarity with dementia care practices and techniques to support individuals with cognitive impairments.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while assisting clients with mobility challenges.
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols and best practices for client safety.
• Experience working with persons with disabilities, demonstrating patience and understanding in all interactions.
• A background in senior care is highly desirable, showcasing a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for elderly individuals.
