Position Summary
As a Health Care Attendant / Personal Support Worker (HCA / PSW), you will provide hands-on, compassionate care to support the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents. Working as part of a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team, you will assist residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, mobility, feeding, wound care, and other daily living activities
Provide cognitive, social, and emotional support to residents and families, including palliative care
Deliver compassionate services while respecting confidentiality, privacy, and resident dignity
Ensure effective communication and collaboration with team members and residents' families
Respond to resident and family concerns promptly and professionally, in line with company policies
Follow departmental and company policies regarding documentation, infection control, fire safety, and workplace safety
Qualifications
Valid Health Care Aide (HCA) certificate or Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate, completion of the first year of a recognized nursing program, or equivalent education/experience
Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Prior experience in a retirement or long-term care environment preferred
Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
