Haztech is seeking dedicated and compassionate certified Health Care Assistants to join our team for travel positions in Long Term Care Facilities in Manitoba. The successful candidates will work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to the residents. The Health Care Assistant will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

The position of Travel Health Care Assistant with Haztech offers the opportunity to work on contracts of varying lengths, ranging from a few days to 3-6 months. Haztech provides competitive wages along with travel, meal allowance, and accommodations for the duration of each contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature.
  • Assist with feeding and medication administration, as directed by a registered nurse.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents, including changing bed linens and ensuring a clutter-free room.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of care plans, including reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing team.
  • Provide emotional and social support to residents and their families, promoting a positive and engaging environment.
  • Follow all infection control protocols and procedures to prevent the spread of disease.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all care provided.

Qualifications:
  • Completed training and certification as a Health Care Assistant, with a minimum of 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and patient care techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience with geriatric care is an asset.
