In this role, you will assist the client with daily living activities, provide companionship, and help maintain a safe and comfortable home environment. The ideal candidate will be reliable, proactive, and skilled at encouraging meaningful engagement with clients experiencing memory loss.
Key Qualifications:
Female caregiver with experience in dementia care
Nursing student (Year 3+) or experienced private caregiver
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Compassionate, respectful, and professional demeanor
Shift Schedule:
Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday:
1:00 PM - 8:00 PM (7 hours)
Saturday or Sunday:
5-6 hour shift (day and time to be discussed)

Responsibilities
Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Provide compassionate care to individuals with diverse needs, including those with dementia or disabilities.
Support nursing staff by reporting changes in patient conditions and assisting with medical procedures as needed.
Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.
Engage patients in social activities to promote mental well-being and emotional support.
Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist patients in mobility or transfers.
Document patient care activities accurately and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Skills
Experience in dementia care is highly desirable.
Strong background in patient care within nursing homes or assisted living environments.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
Knowledge of caregiving best practices, including meal preparation and personal hygiene assistance.
Familiarity with hospice care principles is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
