Job Summary:

Family Friend Inc. is seeking a compassionate and attentive Health Care Aide to support the role of a Personal Companion & Support Worker; providing quality care and support to seniors in need. This is a permanent, part-time/ casual position and is based out of St. Albert, AB and Morinville, AB. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, accompaniment to appointments and ensure the well-being of each assigned client.

Responsibilities:

- Provide regular companionship and emotional support to clients (playing cards/ board game etc.)
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Transport and accompany clients to appointments or outings as needed
- Provide post-visit reports to the client's family

Experience:

- Previous experience in patient care, caregiving, or related field is required
- Familiarity with nursing home, assisted living, or home care settings
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required
- Proficient with safe food handling practices for meal preparation
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor

Required Skills:

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Must be proficient with the use of phone based apps, email use, phone calls, text messages etc.
- Must be a registered HCA

Must provide:

- Current Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector Check)
- Clean Drivers Abstract (dated within 30 days of submission)
- Proof of insurance with 2Million Liability for transportation purposes
- First Aid Certification

Expected hours: 10 - 35 per week
