Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to provide essential support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities by delivering personalized care and assistance. This role requires a strong sense of empathy, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Help with mobility assistance, including transferring clients in and out of beds or chairs. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks. Monitor clients' health status by observing changes in their physical or emotional condition and reporting them to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Support clients with dementia care by engaging them in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function. Assist with medication reminders as directed by healthcare professionals. Provide hospice care support for terminally ill patients and their families during difficult times.

Qualifications

Previous experience in assisted living, home care, or senior care is preferred. Knowledge of patient care techniques and practices is essential. Familiarity with dementia care principles is an asset. Ability to perform meal preparation while adhering to dietary restrictions when necessary. Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic environment for clients. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Certification as a Health Care Aide or equivalent training is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work weekends
