The Bigstone Health Commission is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to join our Homecare team on a casual basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide essential care and support to clients within the Bigstone Cree Nation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide assistance to clients on Bigstone Reserve
Assist client with transferring/positioning and daily living activities
Monitoring of client's health/psychological status including but not limited to V/S (blood pressure monitoring, pulse, blood glucose, weight), and report any changes in clients' conditions promptly
Assist in teaching of personal care tasks to the client; promote independence of clients by teaching the client
Ensure client safety and maintain a high standard of infection control and confidentiality
Maintain accurate daily documentation (verbal and written)
Support the client with medication reminders and assist with medication delivery as directed by nursing staff
Assist homemakers with homemaking services, including light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe home environment
Organizing supplies, assisting with equipment organization
Assisting with health promotion activities and programs
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Understanding, patient, and respectful toward clients' cultural, social, and emotional needs
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
Physically able to perform job-related tasks
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Education and Experience:
Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide Training
Registered and in good standing with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
Current Standard First Aid Certificate
Valid Class 5 driver's license.
