Vermilion & District Housing Foundation is seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aides to provide exceptional support and care to our clients in various setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring dementia care. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring patient comfort, and promoting well-being through personalized care. Candidates should be committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and respectful environment while delivering high-quality caregiving services.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring as directed by healthcare professionals Support meal preparation and feeding for clients with specific dietary needs Help with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive atmosphere Assist with mobility and transfer of patients using proper techniques for heavy lifting when necessary Document care provided and report any changes in health status to supervising staff Support clients with dementia or cognitive impairments through specialized caregiving techniques Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, home care, or hospice care preferred Knowledge of patient care practices including medication administration and dementia care Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs Strong communication skills and compassionate nature Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Certification in caregiving or relevant training is a plus but not required Must be reliable, patient-focused, and committed to providing high-quality care
