Your Opportunity:

Tofield has an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Aide to join their nursing team! As a Health Care Aide, you will be an important member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, demonstrating genuine interest and respect for the clients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in Home Care. You will be a key part of the multidisciplinary care team, providing personal care and support to clients in community settings. Your primary duties will be delivering health care procedures and assisting clients with ADLs as determined in collaboration with the client, their family and members of the health care team as detailed in the established health care plan. Under special circumstances, you may be called upon to perform assigned Restricted Activities under the supervision of a regulated health professional; therefore, you will be required to participate in and provide documentation of relevant in-service training and education on an ongoing basis. Description:

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification. Additional Required Qualifications:

Driving in all weather conditions. This position requires frequent physical demands, including walking, bending, lifting, standing and driving for long periods of time. Transferring patients of varying sizes and degrees of mobility. Transporting supplies and equipment. CCHSS standards and AHS qualifications are mandatory, and documentation that such education requirements are being met must be submitted on a regular basis. Basic computer skills with Windows operating system, including Outlook and MS Teams. Please note: the successful candidate requires the utmost flexibility as this is a shift work position, and the schedule may require day and evening shift work. Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience in the Home Care environment is an asset. Medication Assistance Certification.
