Stony Plain is a short 20-minute drive west of Edmonton. It is a vibrant community with an abundance of outdoor recreational spaces to explore and enjoy from beautifully groomed parks and playgrounds to lush urban nature reserves. WestView Health Centre is located in Stony Plain and provides a range of healthcare services including a 24/7 Emergency department, Long Term Care, hospice care, and continuing care unit. We are looking for a Health Care Aide to join our supportive and dynamic team of professionals at the Westview Health Centre within the Long Term Care (LTC) Program. Our LTC facility is designed specifically for individuals with complex, unpredictable medical needs whose care cannot be safely provided in their own home or in supportive living setting. As a member of our Nursing care team, the Health Care Aide will demonstrate genuine interest and respect for our clients and utilize your knowledge, skills, and abilities to competently provide direct client care. Client care may include assisting clients with activities of daily living, monitoring resident progress, participating in care plan implementation as directed, and basic Nursing care to residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Description:

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered.
