Job Summary

Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home is seeking a dedicated HealthCare Aide to join our team. Under the direction of the Care Team Manager or the Charge Nurse, the Healthcare Aide is responsible for providing direct client care and environmental support within established standards of care, policies, and procedures. The role involves assisting clients with daily activities, maintaining their dignity and independence, and working closely with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible care

Key Responsibilities:

Assist clients with activities of daily living, maintaining dignity and independence. Follow individualized care plans, provide feedback, and report client changes. Document care provided and observations as per policies and procedures. Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support. Provide assistance with feeding, hydration, and elimination needs. Ensure client safety, including application and monitoring of restraints as required. Assist in admissions, transfers, and discharges, including post-mortem care. Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean environment. Participate in patient safety and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Provide support for clients with special care needs in mental health and geriatric settings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training Other suitable education and experience may be considered Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently Excellent communication skills Flexibility to adapt to changing techniques and procedures Ability to exercise independent judgment Respect for and promotion of cultural diversity Commitment to confidentiality Physical ability to perform job duties Current Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check
