Job Description

The Resident Attendant/Health Care Aide shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home. Employment Terms: 1. Must have the ability to commute to work (17 Genier Street, St. Albert, ON) 2. Must have a Canadian work permit 3. Must be bilingual 4. Medication Administration Certificate (Asset) 5. Working every second weekend Key Responsibilities:

• Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner
• Complete all assigned paperwork
• Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services team
• Observes and adheres to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations
• Assists and attends to care needs of the residents as required
• Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
• Aware of employees and supervisor\xe2\x80\x99s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures
• Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents
• Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations
• Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, MSDS, or home policy
• Other related duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

• Previous experience in providing personal care
• Preferred post-secondary education in related care fields of PSW/HCA/ DSW certification
• Must be able to read and communicate effectively
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
• Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
• Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
• Must be able to operate related equipment
• Must be able to respond to emergency situations
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift and carrying heavy items

Job Type: Part-time Salary: $16.75-$17.25 per hour Schedule:

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
