Your Opportunity:

Rocky Mountain House has an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Aide to join their Acute Care nursing team! As a Health Care Aide, you will be an important member of a multidisciplinary health care team, demonstrating genuine interest and respect for the clients. To be successful in this position you will demonstrate excellent communication and observational skills, report changes in client care needs and condition to the Charge Nurse. As an HCA and member of our nursing care team, you will demonstrate genuine interest and respect for our patients and utilize your knowledge, skills, and abilities to competently provide direct patient centered care. Rocky Mountain House is located 77 km west of Red Deer in west - central Alberta located on the North Saskatchewan River. One word that could describe Rocky Mountain House is "opportunity." Description:

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification. Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job that involve periods of physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting weights up to 25 kg. Preferred Qualifications:

Recent Acute Care experience (within the last three years). Ability to communicate effectively with a geriatric population.
