Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality patient care to residents in a home like setting. Ensuring their comfort, well-being and maintaining independence.

Schedule

12 hour shift morning shift (0700-1900) Night shift (1900-0700) Weekends as needed

Responsibilities

Assist and supervise 6 residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Perform daily house keeping duties including laundry. Encourage residents with their individual daily household tasks. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for residents. Monitor and record vital signs, charting, reporting any changes in residents conditions to manager. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication management. Assist with mobility and physical exercises, including heavy lifting when necessary. Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient living areas. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.

Qualifications

Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, particularly in nursing homes or assisted living environments. Special preference to past experience working with ABI clients. Knowledge of patient care techniques and best practices for patient care. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist patients with mobility challenges. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in providing quality care for patients. Certification as a Health Care Aide or equivalent training is an asset but not required. Medication administration training (Available onsite training), (Medication administration trained is an asset)

Clear criminal record check

First Aid and CPR certified

WHMIS and Food Safe certified

Flexibility to work 12 hour shifts including holidays

Must have a reliable car for transportation

Pay: From $22.38 per hour
