Elk Point is situated in the County of St Paul, in east-central Alberta, with a population of approximately 1,500. We offer an arena, a public library, a fitness centre, the Elk Point Water Spray Park, excellent housing opportunities, schools, and a daycare facility. Elk Point has a full range of services, including two grocery stores, several convenience stores, pharmacies, a bakery, clothing and variety stores, and many restaurants. As a Health Care Aide, you will be a member of a multidisciplinary team, working at or out of our 30-bed Long Term Care unit, as well as other departments located in our facility. You will be providing client care services under the supervision of a regulated healthcare professional and will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.

Description:

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered.
